hoffalady > July 12 '09 day 363 kitty it wasn't an entirely lazy weekend. i did accomplish something... my grocery shopping! :0) oh and the boys (all 3 of 'em) voted yesterday "the best food day ever". i think it's mostly because of the brunch i made- french toast w/ strawberries, whipped cream and syrup, scrambled eggs and bacon. i don't make a big breakfast often but when i do, the boys always act like they've hit the lottery! tomorrow it's back to reality tho. i really haven't been consistent w/ my eating or exercise. it seems like i'm only ever doing one and not both. i've got 33 days until my trip up to Boston and i need to be solidly in the groove by then. btw, thanks for the comments on yesterday toad shot. T was very pleased with himself. lil bugger. today's shot is a souvenir the hubby brought back from his trip to Japan a few months ago. i *heart* hello kitty and this charm hangs on my purse/camera bag.
hoffalady > July 11 '09 day 362 hostage T found this guy in the yard this morning and even tho he peed in T's hand (twice) he insisted that George make my daily. the things i do for that boy. the hubby had work (homework and Navy stuff) to do today so we just hung out. nothing too fantastical. finished off the rest of the fireworks tonite too. not a bad Saturday at all. :0)
hoffalady > July 10 '09 day 361 gnarled nothing too interesting today. hung out with my boys during the day. had a quiet swim with the hubby when he can home from work. made kick ass rib eyes, baked potatoes w/ the works and orgainic rosemary & garlic sour dough bread fir dinner. in bed by 9:30 even. Christine did crack me up on Facebook tho. i had tears running down my face reading (and replying) to that. funny stuff. oh and James, you're right. sending my tweaked photos to SM via LR is easy once you've got it all set up. :0)
hoffalady > July 9 '09 day 360 limed nothing screams summer like a ice cold beer on a wickedly hot day! i had the hardest time trying to upload this photo. it kept timing out when i tried it my usual (simple) way. so i just spent the last hour getting the LR plugin and getting that all set up. so confusing. ah well at least it's up. hope you had a great Thursday!
hoffalady > July 8 '09 day 359 cosmo the boys and i took a detour on our way home from the dentist today. Q wanted to show me where his friend had moved to. driving back we passed a field filled with cosmos. it was so pretty. between the flowers, the sunshine and the dragonflies- almost perfect. nothing new to report. just another day. i think i might be getting the blahs.
hoffalady > July 7 '09 day 358 moonrise it just figures. last nite while i was doing my sparkler photo the moon was low and huge w/o a cloud in sight. so i knew that would be today's shot. i don't touch my camera all day. i wait. it's 9pm and i'm standing outside in my jammies searching for the moon. it's vanished. seriously. it's no where to be seen. so i wait.... and wait.... and wait... and get attacked by all manner of creepy crawlies and wait some more. finally Mr. Moon makes his appearance and there's clouds low on the horizon! sheesh! i did the best i could with all that interference. Murphy's law....

hoffalady > July 5 '09 day 356 after it rained on and off all day. well not normal rain. stormed really. so our second nite of fireworks was cancelled. there's always monday nite..... :0)
hoffalady > July 4 '09 day 355 firepower happy 4th! hope all of you have a safe & fun day! we had a blast, literally! this is the first time we've lived somewhere that you can set off your own fireworks.needless to say the boys all had the best time and i got the play around with shooting fireworks for the first time. the hubby tired a couple of times to get me a shot of the three of them firing off roman candles at the same time. he's the greatest! this is the best shot of it. Q calls it my Ghostbusters shot. lol
hoffalady > July 3 '09 day 354 catch we had a great family day today. up early to go fishing. it's always a crap shoot fishing with my boys. T loves sitting there for hours on end but he gets annoyed (like most fishermen) when he doesn't catch anything. Q, on the other hand, is done after just a few minutes. the hubby was smart enough to give Q a job to do when he was done fishing, collect kindling for our firewood. he's a smarty pants! i had my camera- so all was right with the world. T caught this one little fish. he looks so proud, doesn't he? i also took this shot of Q that i completely love! after stopping to pick up a new cordless phone (ours was in storage for 6 months and now doesn't work!!), we got the boys non-coffee frapps and fireworks!! i can't believe all the exploding stuff we got for just $10! nothing like waiting until the last minute to get some good prices! ha! the boys can't wait until tomorrow nite when we have our own private fireworks show. Mama called too. she and Daddy were planning on surprising us by driving up and spending this weekend w/ us. unfortunately that plan fizzled but they are going to head up some time this month since it's the last of the boys summer vacation.
hoffalady > July 2 '09 day 353 cheat so not HDR! it's a Lightroom preset that does a damned good job if you ask me. i think it would have been cooler if i'd gotten at least another row of bricks at the top and all of the hanging sprigs of the plant. i spent way too much time downloading free LR presets and playing with them. i'll eventually delete most of them, but it was entertaining. :0) i wanted to thank all of you who took the time to really comment on yesterday. i do agree that once those words leave my lips, they can't be taken back. i might be best simply to voice my feelings, making sure i only talk about *me* and do it via email. that way there is no chance of me saying something i'd regret, ya know? or i could always point them here to my 365... lmao
hoffalady > July 1 '09 day 352 cherries i didn't love anything i shot today. so i spent far too much time in LR and this is whatcha get. blah. do you ever let something go thinking it's not worth the bother only to have it be someting that lingers in your mind and ends up getting more energy that you'd wanted to give it? that's how my day was for the most part. my brother and sister in laws move has got me all spun out. not that they are moving, because i want them to be happy and do what's best for them... it's that i was the last one to find out... that they didn't tell me first hand... i guess what it all boils down to is this is just confirmation of how far apart we've drifted and that makes me so sad. family is so important to me. so i've been wrestling with saying something or just keeping my big mouth closed. hope you had a good Wednesday.....
hoffalady > June 30 '09 day 351 dried today wasn't a great day. i felt off all day, headache & a queasy belly. not good. this was a last minute desperation shot... i hate when i have those. the first day we moved into this house, Q found these tiny flowers in the grass. (Q is my baby. he gives me flowers just about every day.) anyway, i put them on my desk and basically forgot about them. the largest one of the three is smaller than a dime. today is Mama's birthday! happy birthday to my Mama!! i love you!
hoffalady > June 29 '09 day 350 tractor-box my neighbors are away for a week. so the boys and i are watering thier plants, collecting their mail, etc. it gives me a chance to explore their yard w/o feeling weird about it. lol the boys took turns shooting and then they let me have my camera back. both wanted me to use one of their photos. that wouldn't have been fair. so in the end, i let them choose how i edited it. they thought this was the coolest thing ever. i love Mondays....
hoffalady > June 28 '09 day 349 snacker T spotted this guy while we were eating dinner. i knew he/she would fly away if i tried going outside... so, i got a bunch of hazing looking photos shot thru my dirty windows. i've never wishes i did windows more! my real photo op passed this morning w/o me even thinking of grabbing my camera! T and i were on our way to the grocery store when i spotted a box turtle in the middle of the road. i pulled over, switched on my hazards and hopped out to get him safely to the other side of the street. he was huge! shell about a foot long from head to tail and heavy too!! and the best part?? he peed on me! lmao! that'll teach me to save lives.... hope you had a great weekend!!

my neighbors are away for a week. so the boys and i are watering thier plants, collecting their mail, etc. it gives me a chance to explore their yard w/o feeling weird about it. lol

the boys took turns shooting and then they let me have my camera back. both wanted me to use one of their photos. that wouldn't have been fair. so in the end, i let them choose how i edited it. they thought this was the coolest thing ever.

i love Mondays....
